    The gameplay will probably be mediocre at best for the foreseeable future, so it would be nice if different presentation packages were available for greater immersion.

    This was the most skill points I’ve ever seen for a player during a season. We reached the super bowl and this undrafted rookie quarterback who started the season as a 54 won the MVP, ROTY, OPOY he went into the Super Bowl like an 88. We won. 4th in a row. I’m thinking about starting another team.

    Why is no one talking about these issues?

    1. Why can we still see if our opponent is running or passing based on who they go to motion? The O-Lineman's name appears when the opponent is selecting a player to motion if it's a run play, if you did not know.
    2. In Mut, why does hurry up only take 1 second off the clock? Whether it's a 4 yard play or 40 yard play they lineup at the same time. Helps many people get off more plays then they should or have time to kick a last second field goal.
    3. Why are qb contains still in the game? They are 1. Not very effective against escape artist qbs and 2. Break the o line and are strictly being used for glitchy blitzes. Ea failed last year with it and claimed to have fixed it this year, but they failed again. Might as well do what they did last year and have contain players strictly stand and not rush so at least the blitzing gets slowed down. It's part of the reason so many people won't even attempt a pass.

    Just a couple issues I realized today haven't seen much attention. Guess we just come to expect these problems now.

    Madden AI needs to be reconfigured

    So I am in a league that does strictly CPU vs. CPU play, we broadcast games and have commentators for them. Like i said, there is no user input for our seasons at all. Last night we were doing a stream for one of our college series bowl games, it was Miami vs. Notre Dame. Notre Dame had just scored a field goal to make it 27-24 with about 1:30 to go in the 4th. Miami comes out on offense and starts to drive, they get to about midfield and have no timeouts. Madden's AI then kicks in and because they have the clock working this year to always run and speed up, even through cut scenes, Miami has a replay shown of a pass over the middle that takes about 10 seconds off the clock. Then they show Miami huddling! and trotting to the LOS like its the 1st quarter! all together they lose about 25 seconds. It is now under 30 seconds left and they throw another short pass over the middle. When the player was tackled there was 15 seconds left and they were now at about the 30 yard line and in field goal range.. this is where the AI just totally screwed them.. instead of recognizing the time and no timeouts to use, the game goes into ANOTHER replay and then a huddle!! by the time they get out of the huddle and walk up to the line of scrimmage the clock hits :00 and they lose the game! Before i hear it, yes i know you're "suppose to play the game" idc about your thoughts on that tbh because this is how we enjoy the game. But regardless of anyone's feelings towards it, there is no reason the game should not be able to recognize the time and make decisions based off of that at this point. It ruined the entire game for us and just shows how much this game is lacking in basic awareness overall. This is just one of many terribly designed processes in the game, am I a bad person for expecting the game to behave like a football game? When did this get so messed up? You would think without user input changing the timing of the games that the AI would actually perform better in these situations. It's just a shame that such a beautifully designed game(graphics wise) is lacking in everything that is true simulation football. Ok.. rant over lol

    TLTR: computer controlling the team, AI doesnt have sense of urgency, doesnt get the CPU team lined up for a spike and no huddle scenario. Team loses the game because of this.

    Does anyone create a terrible player and work them up to the future of the franchise?

    I made a practice squad player who was 59 ovr and is now 64. He's a Lamar type guy but can't hold onto the ball, he's good in practice but my starter is a leader in passing so I'm not gonna switch the 2.

    Development traits and Superstar abilities

    I may be in the minority here but I really like the addition of superstar and Xfactor abilities. Its created a new dynamic in team building where you want to match players with abilities to help your team. I run lots of curls and outs/ins so look for those abilities when signing receivers. Same with lineman, I emphasize pass blocking over run blocking so those are the abilities I look for. On defense I look for run stuffing tackles and Fearmonger ends. If they dont have that, I'll likely pass. My one critique is I dont feel it should be rating based, except for QB because they have they extra ability slots, but should be based on dev trait. Normal=no ability, Star=1 ability, Superstar=2 abilities, Xfactor=all abilities. This would make those low low low overall UDFA even more enticing if they had one active ability. I also think the option to choose between two abilities would be nice if your complete the breakout challenges. Just my thoughts.
