But when I want to make the games harder because they are becoming super easy, I go to simulation. Holy shit is it bad, I don't understand why my team can be so much better and it doesn't matter. Any contested pass whatsoever will be intercepted or dropped, even on some wide open passes, the 60 ovr sprints across the field like he's fucking Usain bolt and he'll swat it. And the worst is when you throw the ball to an open receiver, and then the game just throws the ball to a db that's not even close to a receiver for a pick. I don't know how to make the game more challenging, and simulation but a definitely not realistic. [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 25 Apr 2021 03:01 PM PDT Remember the past couple Madden's where man defense was the "meta" until it got nerfed? Then it was just zone defense all the time. Hell, I was pretty much Lovie Smith in Madden 19, all I had to call was Tampa 2. And zone defense was the only way to go in Madden 18. This year feels no different. Man defense used to work fine, but now I just get torched using it. Even on plays where you really can't call zone defense, such as "slot formations" where two WRs are on the same side, and the other side only has a tight end or two. But all I seem to play is people non stop corner routes and scrambles. I have a decent-ish team but I literally haven't won one game. I get locked up on offence (granted I'm not the best player), and on defence I can't stop a leak. Any tips for a noob for stopping these scramble corner routes? Actually, any tips at all? Posted: 25 Apr 2021 10:18 AM PDT First off, I know everyone here will brush off any discussion of the Yard with 'EA bad' and I get it. I have my own grievances about Madden, but why don't we put that to the side and really analyze what the fuck is going on in this mode. I've played The Yard a lot, and I've noticed patterns in the mode's community that creep me out. The game itself is fun, but the most bizarre thing about it is the people who play it. So this past few days I took pen and paper to track down these...stats? I played 84 games. I went 53-31. Pretty good record, it feels like I had certain disadvantages, though. My opponents seemed to cut on a dime while my players can only cut on a car tire. My passes seemed to just lob in the air for way too long, while my opponents threw lasers. Anyway, let's talk numbers. 84% of these weirdos didn't skip the intro. I mean what the hell is up with that??!!? WHHHHYYYYY would you wanna sit through the SAME sequence over and over each game? MAYBE I can understand if you want to show off your players gear, but here's the sick twist that EA should realize. 57% of the players didn't even wear anything unique. FIFFY SEVEN. That's more than half. So with all the new swag in the store that NOBODY actually buys with real money, all the "cred" points that flow like milk and honey, all the options to choose from in the loadout sections...people just settle down with the simplest day 1 clothes. TONS OF PEOPLE WEAR THE MADDEN JERSEY LIKE WTF! These people all look the same. Even for the players that wear something they had to purchase with cred, it's usually not the whole buffet. You might see a sleeve or jersey or shoes, but nobody is as well dressed as my guy. And that makes me feel like a fucking idiot. Do these guys just wanna play football instead of Barbie? You could make that argument. BUT WHY THE HELL WOULDN'T YOU JUST SKIP THE INTRO?! Do you just watch the Lamar Jackson music video every time you load up the game? No, you skip it! You know what it is, it's played every time while the game loads. Yet here you are, watching the same Yard intro, and you aren't even wearing anything special. 33% of the guys I played against didn't even have abilities. That's so dumb. They always say "oh I just bought the game" DUDE YOU CAN STILL HAVE ABILITIES. Sometimes these guys defeat me because of how noob friendly Madden is, and I just think "well I guess he doesn't need them." 90% of the jersey numbers were under 30. It was like we were playing basketball or baseball or soccer. I PROUDLY wear 43. I don't know why I like it, but I love how unique it is. I don't wanna be the guy who rambles on about jersey numbers, I've never really played organized sports. Just know that 90% of my opponents were basic bitches. Ooooh number 11, so exotic. So you might think "the Yard is just a cash grab" well if that's the case, the bottom line isn't looking good. The game puts out these season uniform sets that come and go in the store. Nobody buys them. They don't even use their cred points. A lot of the uniforms actually look cool. It'd be nice if they could replace the dated relocation uniforms. But instead, the designs get thrown into the abyss, never to be seen again. Wearing my customized uniform while everyone wears the blandest shit makes me feel like the only one at work actually eating the banana nut bread. Everyone else thinks they're too good. TL;DR The Yard is actually a fun mode, but the stigma of Madden really puts it in no man's land. The people who play the mode could easily be mistaken as bots, but they play like humans. They are the weirdest little cult of gamers I've ever seen. Madden isn't making a profit from this mode, as nobody buys gear, and people barely spend Cred. I wouldn't expect it to return next year.
