    Madden Franchise Roster Search Tool

    Madden Franchise Roster Search Tool

I made a roster look-up tool for Madden 20 franchise for myself and I thought I'd share it with you guys:

The first tab lets you search for any players that you might be interested in trading for and you can filter by pretty much anything you wish for. From physical/intangible grades, height/weight, position, traits, dev traits or any stats etc.

The second tab lets you select your team so you can keep track of your salary cap, know which ones to possibly get rid off etc.

It's easy to set-up but you do need to have the madden 20 companion app and microsoft 2013 or later because enabling powerpivot and power query function is required.

    Steps:

    • Export Franchise Data from the companion app at this website: https://maddenexporter.herokuapp.com/
    • Download the player's CSV file and put it in any folder in your computer.
    • Download the excel file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/13HA-Nv0OepaZEXYzD2Niorlbk7H1fyeA/view?usp=sharing
    • From the excel file, go to the Data ribbon -> Queries and Connection -> Right-click "players" from the right-hand corner -> edit -> under the applied steps, scroll all the way up to "source" then click the cogwheel icon -> replace the current file path to wherever your CSV file is saved.
    • Close & Save the query editor.
    • Go back to Data ribbon and refresh all. Everything should re-populate with your franchise data.

You only have to do all of that once. Moving forward, simply over-write the CSV with the latest data and refresh.

    Bad luck with the Saints?

    Posted: 20 Feb 2020 09:56 PM PST

I usually win 1v1 games vs my friend. (Usually like 38-20 or something like that), but I am terrible as the Saints. It's probably a play calling problem on my part, but Drew Brees is trash and constantly underthrows receivers. Also the pass protection (against the Panthers for example) allows less than 2 seconds in the pocket. I always lose as the Saints, last time I lost 0-49

How is it possible that EA doesn't care? Here's so much! Just copy it!

    Posted: 20 Feb 2020 02:55 PM PST

EA has gone too far with the latest update.

    Posted: 20 Feb 2020 08:48 AM PST

They added something called Tomorrows stars to the game. This does nothing for game play. All it does is add new text to exhibition mode.

The new text is just EA using Exhibition mode to promote MUT.

Meanwhile it has been 3 years since they fixed exhibition stat tracking.

Am I doing something wrong with screen passes?

    Posted: 20 Feb 2020 06:39 PM PST

Everytime I run a HB screen the HB gets stuck on a teammate blocker before turning out into the route and I obviously get sacked. He gets stuck on the teammate for a solid few seconds on almost every variation of the HB screen in my playbook (chiefs). Which is more than enough time to ruin any chance of getting the throw off. The WR screens work fine but it sucks to be limited to just those. Is there something I can do differently playcalling or is this a known issue I'm unaware of?

NEW KID IN TOWN: Face of the Franchise Story

    Posted: 20 Feb 2020 12:41 PM PST

The Football gods proved that they can be kind Sunday night. The evening weather in Oakland a cool but clear 62 degrees. Fans filled the Super Black Hole to bursting in anticipation of watching #17 trot out under Center one last time. Andres "The Kid" Coleman was in rare form compared to earlier in the season. Airing the ball out for 362 yards and throwing for four touch downs, the 13 year veteran looked every bit the champion signal-caller who had led the Raiders to four Super Bowl wins. With the final score 34-17, those fickle Football gods had one more gift up their sleeves: making sure Oakland had possession in the last minute. The final play of Coleman's career would be a game winning kneel down in front of his home crowd. The victory over the Colts ended a 5 game losing streak and put the Raiders 8-8 for the season. While the troublesome season helped convince even die hard Coleman fans that it was time for him to move on, this final game seemed to be a potent reminder of all Coleman's great successes. The crowd stormed the field as the final knee was taken, wanting to thank the man who helped give them so many wonderful memories. On the field, in the stands, in the booth, or online; this week had been filled with talk of Coleman's greatest moments. And as The Kid walked off the field for the last time, chants of "He's alright!" filled the air. And how could anyone argue with that. An era of Raiders football is over but The Kid's Alright.

-- Jeff Fletcher, The Kid's Alright, East Bay Times, Monday 29 Dec 2031

PART 1: The Miracle Season (2019)

Andres Coleman had already made a name for himself before being selected 23rd overall in the 1st round of the 2019 NFL Draft. The Las Vegas native had distinguished himself as a 5A quarterback at Eldorado High School, leading the Sun Devils to four state championships. Committing to USC, the day one starter for the Trojan's was benched when Marcus Washington decommitted and joined USC one week later. Coleman road the bench all four years at USC. But an arm injury two weeks before the College Football Semi-Finals game against Florida saw Coleman start his first game since high school. The USC win was unexpected but the chance of a repeat against the other finalist Clemson looked impossible. But under the bright lights of Levi Stadium, Coleman and Junior Wide Receiver Isaiah Streets squeezed out a win and a fairy tale story had it's happy ending. It also got the attention of Oakland Head Coach Jon Gruden, who was looking for a franchise quarterback after deciding his current signal-caller wasn't going to be the answer the Raiders needed.

But the starting position for the Raiders would have more obstacles than winning two college football games. First came the NFL Combine. Coleman distinguished himself with marks in the top 10%. But questions still swirled about the up and coming draftee. Could a QB who only played two games in college, even if he did well in the Combine, succeed in the NFL? An invitation to the Draft gave hope, and a call from Gruden in the Green Room asking Andres to throw the ball for Oakland clinched it. All he had to now was win his spot. And standing in his was was five year veteran Derek Carr. The rookie quickly distinguished himself. Scoring a touchdown in both of the first two pre-season games, Coleman would throw two and run in one touch down in the third pre-season game of the year. Much like the rookie Carr had replaced Matt Schuab for the opener in 2014, Coleman won the starter position over Carr. Again echoing history, Gruden announced that Coleman's start for the Opener against the Broncos would not be a week to week decision. Coleman was the Raiders new QB1.

The Opener was a loss. A streak that has not been broken, as Oakland has lost each home Opener since 2019. However, Coleman did break Cam Newton's Rookie debut yardage total with 436 yards thru the air. And while his passer rating was a respectable 91.1, he only found the end zone one time for a touch down. With his first NFL touch down, Commentator Al Davis remarked that Coleman looked "Just like a kid opening a PlayStation on Christmas". The name stuck and The Kid became the rookie QB's nickname for the rest of his career. Following the loss at home, the Raiders won the second of their home games and both on the road to start the season at a respectable 3-1. Signs at home games started to show up reading "Just Win, Kid" as the Raiders continued to rack up more wins than losses. A much heralded change from the 4-12 2018 season. Coleman's rookie season would see him throw for 4983 yards, 31 TDs and 10 Ints. The impressive numbers would earn him an AFC Offensive Rookie of the Year award.

By mid season the Raiders were 6-2 on the season and tied with the Chargers for Division leaders. Wideouts Antonio Brown and Tyrell Williams both looked to be on track for 1000 yard seasons. What had been thought of as a rebuild year with a rookie Running Back in Josh Jacobs and an unknown in Coleman was starting to look like a playoff shot. Gruden's West Coast offense had to rest heavily on the rookie QB as the Raider running core was plagued with injuries all season. For a while the playoffs looked out of reach with two huge blowout loses to the Chargers. But Coleman found ridiculous success with both games against the Chiefs, including his first 4 touch down game on the road at Kansas City. At the end of the season, the Raiders found themselves 11-5 and Division winners. The first time Oakland had clinched the top spot since 2002. While Brown would go on to clinch a league leading yardage total over 1275 yards, Williams would only break 900 yards for the season. And a ruptured disk for Doug Martin in week 14 meant Josh Jacobs would be HB1 for the playoff run.

The road to Miami started with a bye week. In the Divisional round, Coleman and Patrick Mahones seemed to have a gentleman's agreement to avoid the run as the game devolved into a shootout. Both QB's broke 400 yards passing but Kansas City only found the end zone once while Oakland found Brown twice and Jacobs thru the air as well. The Conference Championship was a different story. Three red zone interceptions in the first half effectively ended the air game for Coleman. But the Raider defense kept his mistakes from becoming points on the board. In a slug match between who could make the biggest defensive mistake, the Raiders came out on top 17-13. Chastened by the fans and a particularly profane Gruden, Coleman would have to tighten up his game as the rookie was about to make NFL history and start a Super Bowl against the Carolina Panthers.

Super Bowl LIV was a hotly contested match. The Raiders were able to put points on the board first with a field goal in the first quarter. And while Jacobs was able to run the ball in the for a touch down late in the 1st quarter, Coleman was unable to find a end zone strike the entire first half. Thankfully, after his disastrous performance against Cincinnati, he was also able to avoid throwing any interceptions. His first touch down pas came in the 3rd quarter with an 8 yard connection to Williams. Carolina found a pair of passing touch downs in the 2nd and 3rd quarter as well but their running game was smothered by the Raiders defense the entire game. Field goals were not a problem for either kicker as both teams had three each. Late in the 4th quarter the score was 23-23 with Raiders in possession of the ball. A drive by Coleman that took the game down to 8 seconds put the Raiders on the 38 yard line with the final time out in Carolina's possession. A final field goal won them their first Super Bowl since 1978. Coleman's 4th quarter drive and 316 yards passing won him the MVP and the undying love of the Raider Nation. Accomplishing a feat never before done in the NFL, The Kid earned a spot in the record books and his first Championship ring. A rookie leading his team from a 4-12 2018 season to a Super Bowl win the next year would be spoken of almost reverently by fans for years to come as The Miracle Season.
