    I'm not a basketball fan, and haven't played an NBA game since 2K3 or around that time, but I figured I'd download 2K20 since it's free.

    Don't get me wrong, 2K has their own issues with microtransactions and sleezy bullshit and what not, but my GOD 2K20s game modes have so much fucking depth. The game presentation is pretty amazing as well. They actually show players talking about other players during the game in quick little segments, they have an actual half time show, etc. The graphics are amazing and the player models actually look like their real life counterparts. I actually got upset playing because that's what Madden should be. Madden should have never gotten to the state that it's in. 2K even has historical teams in Play Now mode. Yeah it's something small, but the fact that they have that is amazing. 2K blows EA out of the water. It's not even close. They do such a better job than the shit that we get. What a joke.

    And the excuse that EA can't add lots to the game because of "time frame" and the yearly releases is bull shit. NBA is a yearly title and they have way more in their games than what we get. I honestly urge anyone with a PS4 to go and download 2K20 for free and try it out and see what we're missing out on.

    "The Yard" is clearly EA's response to 2k's upcoming football game, proving that competition is how you get Madden to innovate and improve the quality of their game

    If 2k were not making an arcade game in the near future, EA would feel zero pressure in trying to include a game mode like "The Yard" in Madden.

    Hopefully "The Yard" is as fun as it sounds, but knowing EA, I'll have to wait and see it for myself. This could very easily turn into another "Pay-to-win" game mode, but for the moment I'm trying to remain optimistic.

    Easy fixes for H2H online play in Madden 21

    I know that this subreddit is mainly composed of players who enjoy franchise, MUT, etc...

    But there are many sports fans like me, who primarily come from games like LoL or Overwatch. I can only speak for myself, but I personally don't play many RPGs or games/modes that involve a lot of time spent on tinkering with my characters/teams.

    Common gripes about gameplay aside, I find Madden 20 to be quite engaging as a sports sim, especially when running or playing defense. The superstar X Factors make things more fun. I love measuring my skill by playing competitively online. And it should be even more fun than it is.

    However, it seems like a huge mistake on EA's part to ignore the easy fixes that could make H2H online play a great deal more fun. These are the 4 fixes I would like to see, none of which are major overhauls. And EA, if you hear this, I have them ranked in order of importance ;)

    1. Allow us to see the skill rating/competitive of our opponent, along with a few other basic stats.

    There is obviously some kind of skill rating/competitive points system in this game, because there are top 100 rankings, and you can see your own SR/comp. points.

    But it makes it hard to gauge how happy I should be about a victory when I can't see anything about my opponent. Maybe he's lost 25 games in a row. I have no idea!

    Which brings me to my next point-- a few basic stats are must-haves for any competitive experience. Win-loss record, passing yards / TDs per game, interceptions per game, sacks per game...etc. I'm no game designer but I do not think this is a major request.

    2. Introduce a punishment for disconnections, intentional or not.

    Again, EA should look to other competitive multiplayer games here. Everyone disconnects sometimes due to the internet, but I would guess that around 95-99% of disconnections in Madden H2H are intentional. And why wouldn't you disconnect on purpose? There's literally no downside. You can close Madden on your Xbox/PS4 and it disconnects you.

    Not asking for anything crazy here - 10 minute ban on matchmaking, and a reasonable deduction from your SR/competitive points. It is beyond infuriating to have a last-second win stolen from you because your opponent got salty.

    3. NO MATCHUPS WITH IDENTICAL TEAMS!!

    This one's simple. If I'm queueing as the Seahawks you can assume I don't want to play against the Seahawks. Have yet to meet anyone who likes playing mirrored matchups.

    4. Introduce competitive points tiers.

    This will never happen but a boy can dream. H2H would he a million times more fun if they had a ranked system and tiers you could climb. Otherwise there's no context for how much better you're getting.

    Madden 20: Quit mid-game by turning Xbox off?

    I keep getting like 3 score up in a game and then my opponent mysteriously "loses connection". Is this because they are quitting by turning their Xbox off? I don't win very often so it's very annoying haha.

    Also if this is the case, what's the best to combat it? Can they be reported?

    How to get more information about a play?

    I see people on YouTube when they select a play, they have a grey box besides it that gives information about the play itself. Like who is the main person and the concept. How do you turn this on? (PS4)

    What is the SML? What does it stand for? What are the league values? What separates this league from the other SIM PlayStation 4 Madden Leagues? Those are all great, great questions. I will answer them all, and many more in this post.

    - The SML stands for Sim Madden League, simple enough. We are an experienced SIM league with well thought out and enforced rules. We leave little area of question, which helps keep games running as smoothly as possible. Our league is founded Prime-Time000 who has over 15+ years of Madden experience. We take playing SIM very seriously, but being SIM goes beyond the white lines of the virtual football field.     Your best chance of landing a spot in the SML is by filling out our application in the new member registration tab on www.simmaddenleague.com That site also has our complete set of gameplay rules and league rules. So once you're in the league you may definitely want to bookmark that site.

    What's the Primer?

    The Primer is our "Developmental league" for the SML. Basically, that means it's our secondary league. In order to get the best possible members in SML, we have a vetting process that is "The Primer." We look at user's ability to schedule games, their chat activity, attitude, and ability to follow rules all as a grading tool in order to get the best possible users in the SML (our Main league.)
