    I play Madden obsessively every year and year round, but after just 15 hours on this year's version, I think I may be done.

    Gameplay has honestly taken a step back, mainly because the graphics look atrocious (horrible shading/contrast with no ability to fix this on console) and the typical broken zones on defense and embarrassing blocking and catching AI.

    I'm really not someone to bash Madden all the time, but as much as the devs can blame the execs for budgeting and so on, the technical product is an embarrassment and I fail to see how any of this could have possibly taken a whole year. As someone who has to consistently work 70+ hour weeks and still has to justify their salary every damn day, it makes my blood boil to see those woefully inept devs pass the blame. Honestly, they should scrap the entire team and replace them with people who have experience on sports game franchises that haven't been a running joke for the last 10+ years.

    Beyond that, I realized that the only "exciting" feature I saw from this year's version was that there were more player pictures in franchise. Not more positions or a complete roster - just more player pictures...

    Sorry for the rant but I'm fucking done with Madden.

    I downloaded the Madden 21 trial last night and it is awful. There's no improvements to franchise which is the mode I love to play. The yard is an embarrassing attempt to compete with whatever 2K is gonna put out. The QBs fumbling on every play is unrealistic, most of the animations are unrealistic. The X factors are a waste. Do not buy this game please. 10 minutes in the trial was all it took. I didn't need 10 hours

    Hey all, friendly reminder that the moment EA Sports found out 2K was going to create an arcade style game, they created, developed and released an entire new game mode within the span of a year. Meanwhile, we have had the exact same franchise mode for 10 years and their "focus" on improvement was nothing more than patch notes.

    So do not believe the BS that "franchise improvements take time". That new backyard football mode is proof that when they are truly pressed to make changes, they will make changes and quickly.

    EA Sports only cares about its bottom line. Listen to their conference calls they are on YouTube. EA does not care about the consumer. Remember this before you purchase the game this summer.

    Madden 21 gameplay honest review

    Hello all, I would like to give me thoughts on the new madden thus far. I played the entire 10 hours in franchise mode and I wanted to say that yes it's the same presentation as 20 and it's prosecutors, but the game play aspect to me was so much smoother. Players were actually reaching out for first down, the wide receiver catches were so much more realistic and the QB play seemed to improve. Last season I feel we were missing many small details in 20 which I feel EA has actually improved. I had a great time playing franchise and I for one am excited to keep playing this week. Now let's discuss the bad. The bugs for a major game are unacceptable in my opinion and need to be addressed as soon as possible, the presentation is dull and lastly player customization seems to be lacking, yes in the real nfl players cannot have custom visors but that doesn't mean we can't have our franchise players have multiple color visors, arm sleeves and a mouth piece. All together madden 21 made improvements but still falls just short of my expectations.

    I work in a tech company which produces software and normally I hold my reviews for other software quiet but after 5 hours of Madden 21 I just had to Alt F4

    Madden 20 was already borderline boring with Franchise (my favorite mode not being looked at for many years but was still least enjoyable for dire hard fans). But now with Madden 21 you have gone and ruined the entire flow of the game.

    First of all the bugs in this game are just unacceptable for launch. I know we are in a pandemic and productivity has probably been hit during this time and there are dates you wanted to hit. I hope the Engineering and Product Managers can learn to step up to the executives and push back on dates going forward as shipping a quality product should be number 1.

    I will put down the majority of the sour experience in my mouth down to bugs which could of been easily avoided with QA and some polish. I feel it probably bad to blame this on the actual programmers and was probably due to build and market timing.

    Note Madden Management - People will respect the game more if delayed to fix bugs

    Now I don't ever spend real money in MUT that is stupid and to be honest EA has just reinvented trading cards which have zero resell value... Fair Play from a software guy! But enough is enough.. if the main gameplay is soo horrible that the best part of the game is opening packs and then you screw that up. Its time to take a step back and restart.

    after a Solo Battle taking over 3-4 minutes to go through transition screens and assign items and if i do not want to make this card my starter or go into a pack I have to press back 3 times to continue is horrible UX.

    End of the day you have Fumbled EA on this one and I think you are out of lives to fix this. 2020 has been written off.

    My hope is that maybe this review will be seen by Product Managers or EA Execs who care. If you want to fix you product and delivery quality. it time to reshuffle your org and promote or hire managers who are willing to step up and say this isn't good enough or we need more time instead of "Yes Men" that is the reason this game has failed.. not cause of Ideas but because of corporate culture!

    I don't understand how ea doesn't make defense build resistance and cover the routes that have seen before better or if the opponent keeps choosing the same play the ai should be ablr to lock down those routes.
