If Franchise is improved, and there has been effort put into it, let's give the Devs a positive reaction

    Posted: 22 Jun 2021 03:25 AM PDT

I'm a Franchise only player, I've bought every Madden for over a decade until last year. I've criticised EA as much as anyone down the years on this very sub, and was delighted to see the the #FixMaddenFranchise movement and the subsequent promises from EA.

If they have made an effort, and the new features are good, we should give the Devs a positive reaction. Because you know what, if you blast them even after they listened to us and made an effort, they'll just say "Fuck this, what's the point? There's no pleasing these guys", and won't touch Franchise again for another decade.

And if you give them a positive reaction, we'll probably get more Franchise improvements year on year.

Hmmm I don’t think that car should be on a field.

Madden should update their player appearance, shoulder pads look so big, and the jersey not have wrinkles. The should add hanging mouthpiece and untucked shirt. Here is my edit jalen ramsey with hanging mouthpiece and untucked shirt. Please wake up Madden !!!

    Panthers Uniform Mod [PCMR]

After playing the beta, here is my wish list on franchise.

    Posted: 21 Jun 2021 11:56 AM PDT

First of all, to get this out of the way, Madden 22 is not worth buying for 60 dollars if you are mostly or only interested in franchise. There are a few good additions like the scenario engine and regression updates, but it feels like after a year of complaining, the changes simply aren't enough. Some other users here have talked about the cool new features, so I won't go over all of them. Instead, I am going to go over my wish list for next year's game, even though this one hasn't even come out.

    1. Scouting. There is a scenario that happens where someone tells you "Hey! Look at this prospect! He has the best hands in the draft!" This pisses me off. In this years NFL draft, every fan knew that Kyle Pitts had the best hands in the draft, front offices and fans alike. It is common knowledge, and should be in game. There should definitely be mock drafts explaining why a projected first WR taken is the projected first WR taken. You shouldn't, as a highly paid front office member, be relying on others for common knowledge like a first round pick's hands.

Development traits shouldn't exist. If I draft a 80 overall demigod of a player and see a normal dev trait, I frown. I shouldn't be frowning getting a player that good. There should be a hidden potential stat and if a player gets put into the right situation, they can meet the potential, be lower than it, or surpass it. There can be abilities without development traits, and the developers need to know this.

My last point on this, since I don't want to make this 18 hours long, is how come the player is the only team with a brain? How come we know that the 3rd pick in the draft is secretly a 3rd round talent, and yet every other team doesn't? It feels like such a disgusting advantage that your first and second round picks will ALWAYS hit every year if you keep them because of so many dumb decisions made by the CPU, and it makes it so that your team is so overpowered by the 3rd season that there's no point in playing.

    1. Trading. Trading has definitely gotten better, however a few things need to be changed. For one, positional value shouldn't be so important. I shouldn't have a significantly worse offer for a 85 overall running back than a 73 overall quarterback. I understand quarterbacks are the most important position, but a bum shouldn't be worth a 85 overall veteran just because of their position.

Picks are way too valuable. You shouldn't be able to trade a useless, and I mean useless because madden steals are basically impossible, 5th round pick for Johnny Hekker, one of the best punters in the last 5 years. You shouldn't be able to trade a useless 4th round pick for Justin Tucker, one of the best kickers ever. I understand trading first, second round, or third round picks for aging superstars, as it's simply future vs present, but trading 4th round picks for above average tackles should not be a thing.

There should be a trade finder, like in NBA2K. I should be able to ask the league, hey, bid on my superstar player, and be able to find the best trade out of all of them. Having to manually go through even 5 trades that are good value feel like tons of work. Again, there's more I want to talk about, but this is already a wall of text.

    1. Progression. In NBA2K, if you draft a 67 overall player with a 90 potential, they obviously won't get playing time, but you can put them in the G-League, where they can become a good enough player over 1 or 2 years to make your lineup, and get NBA playing time to reach their potential. This is an example of how to make a "draft steal" work. However, in Madden, because practice squad players only get 2 or 3 attribute upgrades a year, for a 67 overall with crazy speed to progress and flourish, you would have to have them starting at the most prominent role. For example, if you had a wide receiver, you would make them a starting WR1 and maybe even go into a game or two to force them the ball and get 300 yards in those 2 games, so at the end of the season they could become an x-factor dev trait, maybe even win a super bowl for upgrade points, and basically loophole your way into a better player. This makes you feel dirty honestly. Antonio Brown, Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady. All these players were backups or not getting playing time and were training hard in the background, and when they got their opportunity, they shone. There is no good way for a 67 overall player to get better unless they get playing time, which makes it impossible to get a steal.

      1. Stats. This is my last point, since again, I don't want this being 18 hours long, but this is by far my most important point. Sure, stats are eye-candy, but in a larger sense, if you have accurate stats you can see what your team needs help with. However, in a huge sense, if you have insanely inaccurate stats, there is no point in getting a certain player. Let's say Lamar Jackson is in his prime and a free agent and signs with you. You are expecting a 3000 passing yard player who can give you 1000 rushing yards as well, but in Madden, you would be lucky if he had 400 rushing yards. Instead, he will have barely any rushing attempts and will somehow average 15 yards a carry, all the while averaging 4 fumbles a game.

What is the point of getting Lamar Jackson at that point? If I sacrificed my future to make a beast offensive line, what is the point if these players who have only given up a couple sacks in their CAREER suddenly give up 8 sacks per game as a team? It happened to me in the beta. I was playing the cowboys and had Tyron Smith, Quenton Nelson, Jason Kelce, Zack Martin, and Trent Williams. I was simming games, but noticed that I had a weekly award. I believe Dak Prescott had like 297 passing yards and 3 touchdowns, but I noticed... He got sacked SIX times... There are hall of famers on this offensive line in real life, and yet they let Dak, a scrambler, get sacked SIX times. What was the point of getting these guys, what's the point of drafting a certain player, what's the point of tirelessly working to get a great trade, if players you are getting function nothing close to what they do in real life.. I understand going into a game and being sacked 6 times for "balance" but simulation? This is easily the most flagrant example of simply not caring in any sports game ever.

There you have it, some of my wants for next year. After the beta next year, if ALL of these are not in the game, I won't be purchasing Madden 23 either, and I advise you guys to do the same and to support the football game that 2K will be announcing hopefully soon.

Is coach mode, like NCAA 14 had, coming back in 22?

    Posted: 21 Jun 2021 04:36 PM PDT

I know that currently we have "coach mode" but it only works if you don't move anything on the controller and it doesn't work on defense. I remember using it in NCAA and it was much more enjoyable because I couldn't just run 4 verts or read option to put up 70+ points.

Why are the sings that are played in 21 only previews of the song?

    Posted: 21 Jun 2021 09:15 PM PDT

In practice the song changes every 30 seconds and never plays the whole song. Is this on purpose or is there a setting to change it? Really kinda stupid how they don't play the while song by default.

Most interesting franchise situations for the upcoming year?

    Posted: 21 Jun 2021 02:27 PM PDT

I don't plan to buy the new Madden right away, but that doesn't stop me from fantasizing the new situations available to role play.

The first 3 that came to mind for me:

I'm a Jets fan and there's actually some fun pieces to play with now instead of starting at ground zero the past... Decade.

The saints are in cap hell now with uncertainty at the QB position. Is the team good enough to win with Winston or do you blow it all up and start from scratch?

    That dumpster fire in Houston.

Anyone else have any scenarios you're looking forward to?

Is it the player or the team?

    Posted: 21 Jun 2021 09:03 PM PDT

I've always wondered is it the player or the team? Like for example can the worst player win with the best team? Or can the best player win with the worst team?
