    Ulukalala_1 is a cheater - rank 63 on leaderboard

I just faced him, im top 50 online. I recognized him, and recorded him cheating. He uses the exploit of kick returning when you pitch the ball out of bounds and their is a penalty which makes his office start at your 1 yard line (so he only needs 1 yard to score after kr). I assume he takes advantage of a lot of vulnerable individuals like this.

Anyways, the win was rly satisfying cuz he needed 1 yard to win and I stuffed him at the goalline while he had no timeouts left and the clock ran to 0. 38-35, all his cheating attempts and he still couldn't win. Also is one of those players that onsides every kickoff.

How do I report this cheating now that I have video evidence? It'd be great if he was banned

This is a team of busts, washed up players, and underachievers. Here are some highlights through week 8.

    Madden 21 sucks

    Posted: 10 Jun 2021 08:37 PM PDT

Pump fake serves no purpose other than to make you accidentally fail to throw the ball. Its way too easy for the computer to shed 3 tacklers and force a first down. While on defense it's a complete crap shoot if pressing B is going to give me control of the player closest to the ball. I'll press B to be the closest player and end up as some other random player and run off in a useless direction, then I mash b to get on the right player and maybe it works maybe it picks someone else again. On defense, when I break the defense it's almost impossible to tackle the QB because my player gets stuck in some animation where he's trying to defend a player who isn't there. So while I'm trying to sack the qb I'm just crab walking passed him like a toddler who wandered onto the field.

Finally, the "Face of the Franchise" mode isn't just bad, it's lazy. Even if you crush the opponents (I did 40+ to 10) The coach acts like Tommy is the star quarter back. It's just annoying that the game presents the story like there's competition between the two of you but it's a lie because everything is predecided.

I swear Madden use to play better. When I lost it was because I don't understand plays. I still win my games by a lot but I have to put up with a lot of poorly programmed/ tested mechanics all the way.

    Posted: 11 Jun 2021 09:18 AM PDT

Been playing Madden awhile. Since 98. This was the first year I haven't bought. Last night I got EA play for some other titles and jumped into Madden to see how it is.

Holy shit it's so bad. The state of this game proves entropy as a concept. It is utter chaos in offline franchise. It's like every bad bug and sloppy line of code from the last ten years is just magnified. It's barely recognizable as football.

So glad I did not shell out 60$ for this. Hopefully 22 is better, but I'm not holding my breath.

If you think these player ratings suck, just remember...

    Posted: 10 Jun 2021 05:26 PM PDT

    Madden 06 had:

    24 LT's at 85+ overall.

    19 LG's at 85+ overall

    25 C's at 85+ overall

    14 RG's at 85+ overall

    21 RT's at 85+ overall

Only OG's remember how insanely overrated players used to be.

Oh yeah these are ratings for players who were on teams, free agency was worse, tons of highly rated players as FA's.

Resimulating NFL History - 1999 Season

    Posted: 10 Jun 2021 05:53 PM PDT

    Year: 1999

This will contain spoilers for the 1998 season. Post here.

    Notable Rookies

    • Donovan McNabb (Browns)
    • Champ Bailey (Browns)
    • Daunte Culpepper (Eagles)
    • Tim Couch (Panthers)
    • Edgerrin James (Packers)
    • Ricky Williams (Giants)
    • Torry Holt (Bills)

Welcome to the second year of the NFL Resimulation. Last year we had the 5th seeded Vikings fight their way through the playoffs and defeat the Steelers in the superbowl. Time to see if they can repeat their magic.

We also saw rookie QB Peyton Manning win MVP, leading the league in Passing TDs. In this universe he will get to keep Marshall Faulk, so he has pressure to perform better early on in his career.

Another thing to see is the Browns, and if Donovan McNabb has better success than Tim Couch did IRL.

This time I'm going to do records first, then statistics, then awards.

    Playoff Teams:

    AFC:

    Bengals - 11-5 - Z

    Broncos - 11-5 - Y

    Jets - 11-5 - Y

    Jaguars - 11-5 - Y

    Titans - 10-5-1 - X

    Ravens - 10-5-1 - X

    NFC:

    Vikings - 15-1 - Z

    Buccaneers - 12-4 - Y

    Cowboys - 12-4 - Y

    Seahawks - 10-6 - Y

    Lions - 13-3 - X

    Rams - 10-6 - X

Alright, so there was a massive log jam for who made the higher seeds in the AFC. Surprisingly, only the Patriots were competitive for a spot in the playoffs, going 10-6.

In the other conference, the Vikings get their 15-1 season a year late. They dominate every team, only losing a game to the Broncos by 3. The Lions are also dominant, but their 13-3 record only earns them the 5th seed. They will need to fight to prove themselves this year.

Worst teams this year were the McNabb led Browns (1-15) and the Culpepper led Eagles (2-14). Both teams are going to need to land their early picks to bounce back to relevancy.

    Statistics

Passing Yards: Chris Chandler (4546) - Falcons

Passing Touchdowns: Dan Marino (40) - Dolphins

Int Thrown: Daunte Culpepper (20) (yikes) - Eagles

Rush Yards: Terrell Davis (1656) - Broncos

Rushing YPA: Terrell Davis (6.5) - Broncos

    Rushing Touchdowns: Terrell Davis/Marshall Faulk (14) - Broncos/Colts

Receptions: Terance Mathis (106) - Falcons

Receiving Yards: Frank Sanders (1406) - Cardinals

Receiving Touchdowns: Bert Emanuel (16) - Dolphins

Tackles: Keith Mitchell (144) - Saints (Carnell Lake and Ralph Staten were 1 tackle short)

TFL: Robert Porcher (24) - Lions

Sacks: Robert Porcher (23) - Lions

Interceptions: Deion Sanders (4) - Cowboys

    Passing Stats

    Rushing Stats

    Receiving Stats

    Tackling Stats

Terrell Davis has a monster season, leading the league in all major rushing categories. His rushing prowess led the Broncos to the division title, and also having the league's best rushing attack.

Robert Porcher also popped off and broke Mark Gastineau's sack record from 1985. He leads the best scoring defense from last season to new heights, leading the league with 71 sacks. That is a massive number. In fact, only 1 shy of the record 72 sacks set by the 1984 Chicago Bears. (Yes the 1984 bears, not 85). They also tie with the 1989 Vikings.

Culpepper seems to be the root of the Eagle's issues, with a league high 20 interceptions in his rookie year. His defense was also bottom 5 in points allowed (412) so they need to clean that up as well.

The Falcons also had an electric offensive attack. Chandler dominated opposing defenses and led the league's best passing attack. Sadly, they fell short of the playoffs, likely due to their bottom 10 rushing attack and bottom 10 defense.

    Team Stats

    Best Offense OVR: Colts (6318)

    Best Passing OFF: Falcons (4563)

    Best Rushing OFF: Broncos (2124)

    OFF PPG: Broncos (27.9)

    Offense Stats

    Best Defense OVR: Rams (4617)

    Best Pass DEF: Rams (3218)

    Best Rush Def: Buccaneers (1113)

    DEF Pts Allowed: Vikings (247)

    Defense Stats

    Turnovers

Peyton Manning headed the best offense in the league this year, and even had a top 10 defense, yet he had the same record as Ryan Leaf's Chargers, 6-10. This is likely due to his Colts having the second worst turnover differential, at -10. Manning had 15 picks while his defense only got 5 in return.

The Vikings have been pretty quiet in the statistics department, but their top 5 defense (top 3 in rushing, top 5 in passing, and best in scoring) seems to have led them to their dominant 15-1 record. Despite the second worst passing offense (3491) they had the third best rushing attack and second best scoring team (27.7). It seems, just like last year, the Vikings relied on a strong defense and rushing game to win, and it seems to have succeeded. For the record the Vikings also had the fewest penalties and penalty yardage, so they seem to be very well coached.

The Rams are also an important player this year. While Kurt Warner and Issac Bruce were not able to replicate the Greatest Show on Turf, their defense showed up big time, leading the league in yards allowed and pass yards allowed. They have a pretty good chance to win the superbowl, but they would have to topple the 15-1 Vikings.

    Awards:

    MVP: Drew Bledsoe - Patriots (4424 yd - 35 tds - 4 ints)

    OPOY: Terrell Davis - Broncos (256 - 1656 yd - 14 tds)

    DPOY: Robert Porcher - Lions (81 tck - 24 tfl - 23 sck)

    OROY: Edgerrin James - Packers (295 - 1117 yd - 13 tds)

    DROY: Rosevelt Colvin - Browns (104 tck - 4 tfl - 2 sck)

Big thing here is that Terrell Davis got snubbed for MVP. I get that Bledsoe only had 4 picks, but can that top 6.5 YPA? At least he won OPOY, which he deserved. Meanwhile Bledsoe's Patriots didn't even make the playoffs this year.

Edgerrin James beats out McNabb and Culpepper's pathetic seasons for OROY. His Packers did not make the playoffs like I predicted, but I hope they make it in future years.

The Lions have back to back DPOYs, with Robert Porcher winning it after setting a new record for sacks in a season.

Alright, well it's time to see if the Vikings can repeat their superbowl glory. Onto the playoffs.

    Playoffs

    WC Round:

    Ravens over Jaguars

    Jets over Titans

    Rams over Cowboys

    Seahawks over Lions

    Divisional Round:

    Bengals over Ravens

    Jets over Broncos

    Rams over Vikings (ouch)

    Seahawks over Buccaneers

    Conference Champ:

    Bengals over Jets

    Seahawks over Rams

Yikes, so the 15-1 Vikings lose in the Divisional Round. The 13-3 Lions lose in the Wildcard Round, along with the 12-4 Cowboys. The 12-4 Bucs also lose in the Divisional Round. If we ignore the seeding and look at it from a record perspective. All but 1 game in the NFC postseason was an upset. The AFC is a bit more boring on the other hand.

The Seahawks made the playoffs with a ridiculously bad offense. They ranked 25th in yards and 12th in scoring. However, their defense was ranked 5th best yards wise and 6th best scoring wise. This defense led them through the playoffs, as all their postseason games were under 30 combined points.

The Bengals were led here by Corey Dillon. Literally just Corey Dillon. They had a top 4 rushing offense, a bottom 10 passing offense, and only a top 20 defense. They scored 20 touchdowns on the ground, 10 of which were made by Dillon. Dillon also had 120+ yards in both of the postseason games, which let the 1 seeded Bengals continue dominating to the Superbowl.

    Superbowl:

    Box Score

    Stats:

    CIN

    J. Blake - 188 yd, 2 td, 1 int

    C. Dillon - 18-123 yd, 1 td

    C. Dillon - 5-59 yd

    SEA

    J. Kitna - 232 yd, 1 td

    R. Watters - 20-58 yd

    C. Fauria - 6-51 yd

    Score: Bengals 20 - Seahawks 13

    Personal 4th Quarter Review:

This game was pretty boring. The Bengals were up 20-10 in the 4th and the Seahawks refused to do the hurry up offense. The Seahawks kicked a field goal with 5 minutes remaining, but never got the ball back to score their touchdown. The Bengals won.

Superbowl MVP: Corey Dillon (18-123 yds, 1 td, 5-59 yds)

POTG: 31 yard rush by Corey Dillon in the 4th quarter to seal the game.

    Big Retirements:

    LB Ken Norton Jr (Jets)

    CB Darrell Green (WFT)

    WR Tim Brown (Raiders)

    WR Andre Reed (Bills)

None of these guys make HOF, mainly because their career stats are messed up.

    Free Agency Moves:

    Chris Chandler → Saints

Koy Detmer → Eagles (compete with Culpepper)

John Kitna → Falcons (Replace Chandler)

    Tony Banks → Giants.

    Trent Dilfer → Ravens (lmao)

2000 NFL Draft (WHO GETS BRADY??)

Brian Urlacher - Browns R1 - First Overall Selection

    Jamaal Lewis - Bears R1

Plaxico Burress - Saints R1 (Pair up with Alexander and Chandler?)

Laveranues Coles - Chargers R1 (weapon for Leaf?)

    Chad Pennington - Seahawks R1

    Shaun Alexander - Saints R2

Thomas Jones - Panthers R2 (Support for Couch)

    Tom Brady - Cardinals R5

Biggest thing here is that Brady is headed to Arizona.

They already have a top receiver in Frank Sanders and they had an 82 overall Jake Plummer throwing him the ball. Now Jim Plummer will have to ride the bench in favor of the stellar rookie QB.

As for the running back class, this is a fairly influential one. Shaun Alexander and Thomas Jones usually shape the league for the next couple of years.

Chad Pennington is another man to keep an eye on. He joins a superbowl caliber roster in the Seahawks, and looks to lead them to glory next season.

Once again, make sure to like and leave any suggestions in the comments. Last post y'all left me feedback saying to keep injuries on and not to buff any of the QBs. So the top QB will stay at a fairly normal overall (84-81). The highest overall rookie QB is Andrew Luck in 2012 but that is a long way out.

Let me know if there are any specific stats you wanna know, or if there is a specific player you want me to comment on more.

    Somethings to leave predictions on:

    • Will the Ravens defense bounce back? (they were the worst defense this season without Rod Woodson).
    • Will Trent Dilfer heroically lead his Ravens to the superbowl like he did IRL?
    • Will Chad Pennington get the Seahawks over the slump?
    • Can the Vikings bounce back next year?
    • Can Barry Sanders actually win something before he retires?
    • Which offense is going to be the "Greatest Show on Turf" for this universe?

Thanks for reading everyone. See ya in 2-3 days.

Are kick and punt returns completely impossible for anyone else?

    Posted: 10 Jun 2021 06:03 PM PDT

i have cordarrelle patterson, and still have yet to get the ball past the 30 yard line 10 games into the season, and punt returns might as well not exist since getting more than 3 yards is unheard of. Nobody ever blocks, and i have 8 defenders dogpilling me almost immediately on every return. Is this an all madden thing, or what?
