Watching a game in my online cfm and Fuller literally breaks his leg and his character shows the injury animation. I’ve never seen this.

Lol Madden is broken. Kamara wanted 5yrs/$45 mil in the free agency and no one was grabbing him. Last day of FA I threw this at him and Madden approved the pick up. Just got an X-Factor player for less than $3 mil/yr for 5 yrs.

My madden experience. Yo wtf they need to fix this.

    Probably Some Unpopular Madden Opinion

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 01:07 AM PST

    1. I want less control in my career.

I'm tired of being able to pick the plays when I'm a running back or an unproven rookie QB. All that does is make me want to pad my stats. It's super easy to break passing records when your RB has 0 carrys through midseason, or breaking rushing records when you run 50 times a game for 400 ypg. I want the coaches earning their paycheck and calling the plays. If I see something I don't like as QB, I can audible, as it should be, but if I'm a WR, RB, or TE, I should have no say what play we run or if we audible. Maybe if your 90+ overall you can call the play, but even then you should only be allowed to pick between 3 plays your coach gives you.

Also, no more instant starter. Why should I start as a 65 overall late round pick over someone like Zeke or Barkley. Makes no sense.

    1. I wish I could start my career after simulating the first year.

Not sim my rookie year, but sim a season before I'm even drafted. I want to come into the league with a new draft class. I've always found it odd that you get to pick when your "drafted" and always get to choose which team you play for. Most oddly though, your always given a random pick number. So for some weird unexplained reason the draft had 2 people picked in the first round at pick 15. I want to be able to earn my pick spot. This way you could actually be apart of the draft process. Do workouts. The better you do, the more teams show up. Even if your not doing great, teams that have a need at your chosen position will still show up. Give us a personality exam like the players irl get. Let us be invited to the combine. Let us choose our backstory. Are we a heisman winning defender? Or were we a big name at a small college? Were we a 4 year starter who broke records? Or were we a 1 year starter who lead the team to a national championship? Maybe you gave some bad answers on the exams and didn't show up in workouts so you fall from a projected 1st round pick to the 4th. Maybe one team believed in you and took you in the 6th like Brady. Give us some ability to make our character more than just a name on a uniform.

    1. Bring back coordinators in franchise mode.

I used to love being able to hire coordinators if I was a coach. Do I want to change up my defensive style to get a great coach? Or hire a former player who retired 2 years ago and give him a chance? Oh, Drew Brees retired after the first year of a franchise mode, and 4 years later is now an Offensive Coordinator? Or did Luke Kuechly retire and decide to bring his knowledge and be a feared Defensive Coordinator? John Harbaugh have too many bad years in Baltimore so they fired him? Maybe you can hire him a Special Teams coach like he used to be.

No time left on the clock. I went for the win by going for 2. If this isn't the most "Bills" type of loss to the Pats. Smh

Throwback to Madden 19 and the running back I ran for 13 seasons who ended up with a higher legacy score than Brady.

1 If the Chiefs win the Super Bowl, Patrick Mahomes will be the first player to play in and win the Super Bowl after appearing on the cover of Madden NFL the same year.

    Posted: 30 Jan 2020 08:02 PM PST

The Madden curse is a well known phenomenon in the NFL, and while the franchise has always tried to pick the most upwardly-trending player on the cover of Madden (with exceptions), no player has actually won the Super Bowl during the same year as they appeared on the cover. Few have come close, but I wanted to take a look back on how those players actually did the same year after their appearance. Players did not start appearing on the cover of the game until Madden 01 (2000), with John Madden himself being on the cover of versions prior.

Two players came exceptionally close, and they were both Patriots - Tom Brady being on the cover for Madden 18 (2017), but lost to the Eagles that year in SB52. Rob Gronkowski appeared on the cover a year before that, but due to injury he did not actually play in the Super Bowl when the Pats won SB51, so he is disqualified; thus the curse.

If Patrick Mahomes wins on Sunday, he will officially break the mold.

Full List of Players / Covers, in descending order of season the player appeared on the cover:

    Year Appeared Player End result
2019 Patrick Mahomes (Madden 20) Chiefs finish 12-4, Super Bowl TBD
2018 Antonio Brown (Madden 19) Steelers finish 9-7, missed playoffs
2017 Tom Brady (Madden 18) Lost to Eagles in Super Bowl (Patriots won Super Bowl year prior)
2016 Rob Gronkowski (Madden 17) DNP in Super Bowl, Patriots won Super Bowl.
2015 Odell Beckham Jr. (Madden 16) Giants finish 6-10
2014 Richard Sherman (Madden 15) Seahawks go 12-4, lose in NFCCG (Seahawks won Super Bowl year prior)
2013 Adrian Peterson (Madden 25) Vikings finish 5-10-1
2012 Calvin Johnson (Madden 13) Lions finish 4-12
2011 Peyton Hillis (Madden 12) Browns finish 4-12
2010 Drew Brees (Madden 11) Saints finish 11-5, lose in WC round (Saints won Super Bowl year prior) 2
2009 Troy Polomalu / Larry Fitzgerald (Madden 10) Steelers finished 9-7 miss playoffs (Polomalu) / Cardinals finish 10-6, lose in Divisional round
2008 Brett Farve (Madden 09) Packers finish 6-10
2007 Vince Young (Madden 08) Titans finish 10-6, lose in WC round
2006 Shaun Alexander (Madden 07) Seahawks finish 9-7, lose in Divisional round
2005 Donovan McNabb (Madden 06) Eagles finish 6-10
2004 Ray Lewis (Madden 05) Ravens finish 9-7, miss playoffs
2003 Michael Vick (Madden 04) Falcons finish 5-11
2002 Marshall Faulk (Madden 03) Rams finish 7-9
2001 Daunte Culpepper (Madden 02) Vikings finish 5-11
2000 Eddie George (Madden 01) Titans finish 13-3, lose in Divisional round

EA crossing their fingers right now.

Looking for an NFL/CFB game to learn

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 12:54 AM PST

    Hey guys,

I am an Australian fella looking to improve my football knowledge, in particular how specific plays work and tactics etc.

I figured a fun way to do it is to get an NFL/CFB game.

Unfortunately, I am an absolute hater of all things EA. They've destroyed many franchises I have played and loved, and from what I have seen on the internet, Madden appears like it's got a severe case of the EA disease - the same game re-released every year with updated rosters and not much else.

I am happy to get Madden 20 if I can pick it up second-hand dirt cheap, but I am not keen on giving the bastards $50-99 bucks for the game new.

So, are there any older games that are actually good, still hold up to this day, and that people would recommend to a newbie?

Hardware wise, I only have an Xbox One at the moment.

The Defensive X factors are so fucking annoying

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 12:47 AM PST

I hate playing against a team with multiple X factor players on defense. Especially if they have one on the edge, a LB and a DB.

The edge players gets into your backfield immediately because your LT or RT is fucking garbage unless you start as a team that has a halfway decent player in that postion, but you probably don't so you have a drafted player around 70-79 ovr you gets destroyed every other play.

If you somehow get a pass off, it will either be INT or swatted if you throw to the side of the field the DB is on...but if you caught in the open field against the LB it's an auto fumble because he hit sticks you so hard if it happened IRL the player would have to fucking carted off.

It's just so annoying, it's not even a fun challenge. I just know everytime I play this team they're gonna have multiple forced fumbles and 4-5 sacks on key downs because you only have like 3 seconds to throw the ball but you can't even finish the animation that fast to throw it more than 5 yards..

Sorry for the rant, just frustrated after playing another annoying ass game against a team built just like this.

Is it worth buying the new Maddens?

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 12:46 AM PST

I got Madden 18 after the eagles won the superbowl because i wanted to play as them and I can still find matches in online head to head. Recently I've gotten pretty into it tho and I was thinking about upgrading. Am I gaining anything by buying the new ones at all besides updated rosters?
