Creating the most realistic Madden roster for perfect realistic stats in Franchise

    Posted: 11 Feb 2020 04:27 PM PST

    Hello, friends.

Over the past few years, I've grown increasingly obsessed with creating realistic stats in Madden franchise sims.

The predominate issues have centered around passing stats, and stats that branch from those, such as receiving yards and defensive interceptions.

Over countless sims, with varieties of rosters (to include TFG's), I found that no QB would ever throw for 5,000 yards, but over 20 QBs would throw 30+ interceptions a year. Typically, there are 350+ interceptions per league year, but rarely would we see that amount in Madden sims.

Wide receivers would never hit 1,600 yards, which is insane considering AB and many others have hit they mark over the past few years. With the current rosters rating spreads, that never happens.

There are multitudes of issues with the game, and this translates to the gameplay as well. I decided, the most realistic way to produce honest and realistic gameplay and generate realistic stats is an obvious roster overhaul.

I have currently redone 5 of the 32 teams to great success. Ratings for players range from the 40's to the 70's, with very few players in the 80's and even fewer in the 90's. I want a 90 overall Julio Jones to control an Eagle's secondary that averages a 65 overall.

Offensive lines have pass and run block ratings that range from 20 to 90, with most around the 50's and 60's. Wide receivers have realistic run and pass block ratings as do running backs, tight ends, and full backs. The disparity in ratings forces teams to need to be "full in a sense for clean football." While controlling the Bears, Khalil Mack poses a real threat to the Bengal's weak offensive line, but Mitch Trubisky's 64 overall forces him to struggle to produce with the Bear's offense.

My experiments have been INSANELY accurate. I am so excited the current success I actually plan to share my roster through Madden share on Xbox One.

Current status, I have 5 teams done: (Eagles, Bears, Bills, Bengals, and Falcons). I started with these teams to have disparity. The Eagles now have a noticeably weak secondary, weak linebackers, and subpar wide receivers. The Bengals are a disaster. So, I would like to see how a decent receiving corps for the Bengals will test against the Eagles, but what will happen when the Eagles towering defensive line forces a 68 overall Andy Dalton to sweat. Can 82 overall Joe Mixon produce on an offense that has an average 55 run block?

The results were highly realistic, and repeated.

Over 10 sims, the Eagles defeated the Bears 7-3. Average scores ranged from 20-48 total points. In many games Trubisky is held to 150 yards. Montgomery struggles to run, but Cohen shocks with 8 receptions. Allen Robinson still has 60 yards, but the Bears typically fall within 10 points.

Carson Wentz is sacked often and is held from 180 yards to 300. Neither QB throws over 2 TDS.

In other sims, such as the Falcons, just like in real life, Matt Ryan can throw for 300 yards but fall within 10-20 points.

Essentially, I've seen a consistent trend of realistic win/loss outcomes, realistic scores, realistic amount of sacks, interceptions.

Still players perform to their strengths. A weak pass blocking offense will cause your 92 overall Russell Wilson to struggle for example, but Matt Ryan can throw 300 yards a game with his decent pass blocking and weapon Julio Jones.

I plan to have the roster completed by the middle of March, with accurate draft classes ranging from 2020 to 2021, with 2022-2025 staggered over time.

The goal is to have a roster that won't need sliders, will produce realistic stats and outcomes, realistic starters and free agent cuts due to more realistic ratings, and more realistic performances due to rating variances. I'm tired of players like Michael Thomas and Drew Brees scoring 20 points against an Eagles secondary that averaged 16 40+ yard receptions this last year. I'm tired of elite offenses feeling average because shitty players are overrated.

If this turns out well, I will post a more full guide here and on operation sports, and will remake the rosters and draft classes on Madden 21.

Draft classes and scouting rule(MUST READ AND FOLLOW):

So for this league we're using a set of some really awesome custom fictional draft classes. They're these fictional classes that come with these really in depth custom scouting like literally super in depth, they got players' college season stats, stories, award winners, returning players that will be eligible for a future draft class, injury history, top 25 college teams and what teams went to the playoffs and won the championship that season, etc. The reports will be linked in the discord. They have really good reviews all around and they're balanced, not super stacked like some custom classes and not underwhelming like the auto generated classes. You could draft someone as high as an 85 or as low as a 50 and find hidden gems in the later rounds is what they say and they say the boom or bust factor is like no other where if you draft a stud it'll feel amazing. Since they have the custom scouting reports they recommend to not scout any of the third skills on any players so only scouting up to two skills per player when scouting in game because the true talent reveal kind of spoils the scouting report factor and makes it too easy to know who is a bust and who isn't. So yeah we're going with that recommendation because it sounds like a much more fun and better drafting experience, so if you'll be joining you MUST go along with this. So to explain that further when scouting players to reveal they're skills that show the letter grades for their top 3 stats (for example. A- Finesse, B+ tackle, B- block shedding) only scout two of those per player, TRUST ME it will be fun.

Do you guys see any chance of Madden putting Brett Favre into MUT with any upcoming promos? He seems like a player that you can't go without. I thought for sure we would get him in the NFL 100 promo.

I wish they would bring back the Mulligan in Franchise Mode

    Posted: 11 Feb 2020 09:27 AM PST

This was a feature we had for 1-2 Madden games in the Xbox/PS2 generation of games. You could assign a certain number up to unlimited mulligans in a game. So if your stud QB breaks his collarbone, mulligan.

Obviously, it could be abused and was not for H2H play, but in Franchise, it was wonderful. It was also an ideal way to lab plays for situational football.

I would love to see this small feature come back.
