    What Madden needs for a nearly perfect franchise mode

    Nobody cares but I am bored and this is a hot topic lately. I am solely a franchise player in madden so this is something that I really hope gets improved soon or is turned over to 2k in 5 years. A lot of this is going to be stuff from games such as 2k myleague or NCAA dynasty but moved to madden. This is mostly going to be offseason stuff and fixes that can be improved as I'm not going to list the obvious such as "a 16 game season with playoffs."

    Real Awards

    This is an easy one to start with. Really EA? You can't even give us real awards. MVP, Offensive/Defensive Player of the Year, Offensive/Defensive Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year, then 1st/2nd All-Pro teams. That is literally all. It's the awards officially handed out by the NFL then all pro teams. If dynasty was able to have All-American teams I don't see why Madden would have any trouble with All-Pro and maybe even an All-Rookie team.

    Hall of Fame/Jersey Retirements

    There is a Hall of Fame in Madden but the system currently used sucks. You don't know who got in unless you go and check and half the time you can't tell if they're new or from a prior year if you're multiple years in. Have a retirement phase, then show Hall of Fame inductees, then let the best of the best (such as Brady in NE) get jersey retirements since it is a rare honor in football.

    Real Positions

    This is easy too. They took a step forward with slot receivers and other specific positions in depth charts, but how about they just update the 25% of positions they have that are outdated? Remove RE/LE, DT, LOLB/ROLB, and MLB with IDL, edge, and ILB. Add long snappers, and have a separate position page at the end of your roster and free agents for special teamers. All players under the overall of 75 are listed here with what their special teams rating is so that players such as Matthew Slater have a purpose in Madden and for special teams to actually fluctuate in performance from team to team based on personnel.

    Potential Based Progression

    They tried performance based and it just doesn't work, it's time to go back to potential. That's not to say that someone can't up their potential if they have a big season at a young age, or that a high pick can't lose potential if he hasn't performed to expectations. But there should be a solid base for your players progression and there should be an actual reason to draft a QB before your QB retires.

    Coaching Carousel

    Take this straight from NCAA 14 dynasty. Head Coach, Offensice Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator, Special Teams Coordinator. Anything after that is welcomed and icing on the cake, but these 4 positions should all be in the game.

    Fully customizable relocations/rebrand/expansion

    As many cities as you want, any name you want, and the ability to download/upload designs. Basically as close to myleague's system as possible without being sued

    Rule changes

    Another thing to take from myleague. This is such a fun variable in myleague. Imagine the NFL adapting a draft lottery, the play clock being reduced to 30 seconds, or the season/playoff teams being expanded/reduced. So many fun possibilities to explore.

    Revamped contract system

    Abandon the salary/signing bonus system. Instead, how about it's divided between guaranteed/nonguranteed? You can start the negotiation by setting a contract to say 5 years 100 million. You then can customize each year to your liking, for example this contract could look like this:

    Year 1: 25 million, 100% guaranteed

    Year 2: 22.5 million, 83% guaranteed

    Year 3: 17.5 million, 42% guaranteed

    Year 4: 15 million, 25% guaranteed

    Year 5: 20 million, 0% guaranteed

    Doing this allows you to front/backload contracts, as well as decide when you can get out of a contract with minimal cap penalties. Free agents would have preferences based on city, contenders, loyalty, and what type of contract they want.

    Revamped scouting system

    Basically just copy NBA2ks. Just scout a certain amount of players through the season/offseason and let them be scouted up to 100%, though even a fully scouted player thought to be a 77 overall is not guaranteed to be that, though is guaranteed to be close to that if you have a good scout.

    Revamped trade system/trade finder

    Make trading actually realistic. Once again myleague has a very good trade logic system that would be great in madden. Let teams trade further down the road than 1 season, and allow for more than 3 pieces to be traded per side. Teams should also be classified as contenders/rebuilds like in myleague so that rebuilders are more likely to trade for picks and contenders are more likely to trade for players. Also bring back computer draft day trades, bizarre that that was removed.

    Undrafted free agent stage of offseason

    UDFAs are a big part of teams offseason in the NFL, there should be a portion of the offseason dedicated to signing 10-20 UDFAs to potentially fill special teams/backup roles rather than just searching the free agent market

    Inflating cap

    I believe that the cap stays the same in the current version, if I am correct they should make inflation customizable, once again much like the superior myleague

    League History

    It would be nice to know what's actually happened in the league without having to track it manually. I want to know who has won each award year after year and who the Super Bowl winners and losers were with the score

    A better sim engine

    It is wild how bad the sim engine currently is between game results and player stats. Give us one that at least works correctly so I don't build a star team just to go 7-9

    I'd love to hear what you guys would also add to a perfect franchise

    The blocking in this game is totally Abysmal

    Full back blocking, punt returning, o-line glitches, it's insane. this is in my opinion one of the greatest errors in madden 20. Makes the gameplay so frustrating

    I have owned every madden from the first one. Me and other old school players buy it only for franchise mode. I bring 5-10 players each year into my franchises so we can play f or 8-15 seasons before the next madden. Then we have a few more old school guys that bring people in too! Most of these guys buy it just to join our franchise!

    The OG madden players are the ones that promote the most word of mouth for EA!! Don't forget us and that franchise mode!!! #franchise_is_important
