    BUST CITY: Madden Franchise idea

    I've been looking for new ways to play offline franchise and feel like I've done everything that could be done. I started thinking about a different sort of franchise experience, drawing from the many different ideas thought of by Youtubers and Streamers.

    disclaimer unless specifically mentioned otherwise, the following ideas are my own (TO MY KNOWLEDGE). If it has already been done before then original credit goes to those creators. I'm sure people have done things similar to this already.

    I thought of starting a franchise team made up entirely of perceived draft busts, made up of players who never lived up to their potential, were plagued by injuries, or riddled with off the field injuries that prevented their career from progressing. I would reset their ages to that of their rookie year, and set their ratings back to the levels they appeared as in the players' first Madden game. The main goal is building a successful team of busts and underachievers, so FA signings and trades aren't very encouraged.

    Drafting: I must draft scouted BUSTS. This means players with a real talent grade of at least 1 FULL round lower than their projection. For example, a mid 1st round projected receiver must have a real talent grade of at MOST mid 2nd round. This adds an added layer of difficulty and maintains the team's story line.

    FA signings: Signings depend on the desired player's dev trait. If they are normal dev, they must be 1 overall point lower than my best player on the respective side of the ball. Star dev, the player can only be 1 overall point higher than the offensive or defensive OVR grade for my team (respectively). Superstar and X-factor, the player can only be 1 OVR point higher than my worst starter on their respective side of the ball.

    *The following idea combines characteristics of C4 and TFGPlays Madden franchise playthroughs. All credit goes to them for their ideas.

    Player progression: At the mid season mark, as well as Super Bowl week, players have an opportunity to earn dev dev trait upgrades and ratings boosts. Such boosts at the mid season mark should be for players who have exploded onto the scene, with multiple games of significant statistical contributions. Super Bowl week provides an opportunity for Madden to appropriately assign dev traits to your team's shining stars. However, Madden's dev trait and awards upgrade system is notoriously random and odd. As a result, you have the ability to remove or assign such upgrades as you see fit. Of course, this play through will only be as challenging as you make it, so giving all your starts dev ups and upgrade points isn't ideal. These two points are more of a chance to correct Madden's lack of a sensical season engine. This idea is pulled from TFGPlays franchise habits on YouTube.

    OPTIONAL: these dev ups and upgrade points can be assigned and earned on a weekly basis based on player performance. For example, a receiver with multiple 100 yard games in a short span can earn a sort of "credit" that can be used to raise their dev or spent as upgrades. More specifically, a receiver who goes for 100+ yards, or 2 touchdowns and 50+ yards, can earn 2 credits. At 10 credits, the player can have 3 of their attributes raised once. At 26, their dev trait can be raised to star (and so on). Just an optional idea that can be wrapped into a revised season engine experience. This points system sort of player progression idea was pulled from C4's "Pink Slips" series on YouTube.

    Next step is compiling a list of players to comprise the base team roster! Feel free to leave ideas or suggestions below.

    The 1-5 Ravens go to Miami to face off against the Dolphins, who are on a two game winning streak behind rookie UDFA QB Adkins. Out of all the options at QB for the Ravens, including Troy Smith and rookie Joe Flacco, they have decided to start Byron Leftwich as their guy this year, and it has not gone well. At least they have rookie Ray Rice, who will be a solid RB for the years to come.

    This game, unlike any other for the Dolphins this year, was a very defensive one. The score at half was 7-6 Ravens, after Jay Feely missed a 48 yarder that could've given them the lead before the half. It didn't matter much, however, as the Ravens never scored another point the entire game. After a touchdown and 2-pt conversion in the third, and an addition field goal in the fourth, the Dolphins killed the clock and the game ended 17-7.

    Dolphins advance to .500, at 3-3.

    Ravens fall to 1-6.

    Does anybody watch CPU v. CPU games? I like watching the Super Bowl in my Franchise. The most memorable one would for me would be when the Jaguars blew a 23-6 lead against the Arizona Cardinals. The Jaguars were a yard away from making the score 30-6 but Lawrence threw a pick in the end zone the momentum shifted after that.
