As a player who gives zero fucks about Franchise Mode, it’s time for EA to commit to a better franchise mode.

    Posted: 25 Jun 2020 05:52 AM PDT

I've bought every new Madden game for as long as I can remember. And each year, I breeze past Franchise Mode on my way to MUT or online play. Franchise Mode isn't for me.

However, I DO realize that it's a cornerstone of the game experience for a lot of players. And in an era where gamers and critics alike bemoan the lack of innovation between yearly iterations of the game, I can't—for the life of me—understand why EA won't commit a year to making Franchise Mode better.

The apparent all-hands-on-deck approach to regularly updating MUT and the ridiculous commitment to celebrations just makes EA look greedy and lazy. The request for a better Franchise Mode isn't new, it's just being ignored.

So I won't be buying this year's version of the game. Yeah, I'm just one guy withholding a measly $60. But, I feel for the Franchise Mode diehards. And I'll do my part to send a message to the developer. Because you know what? The celebrations in last year's game are just fine.

RG3 in his first starting season since 2014 He lead Tennessee to a 7-8-1 season and barely made the playoffs. RG3 also finished 4th in MVP voting. Although this isn’t realistic it’s still cool to see, especially if you know RG3’s story

List of things that EA should add to Madden

    Posted: 25 Jun 2020 04:57 PM PDT

    Franchise Mode:

Fan attendance based on team performance

    Create a team

Realistic draft format where the commissioner announces draft picks

    Fan grades/happiness with draft picks

    Offseason training/Training camp

    Pro Bowl skills competitions

    All rookie team

    Contract holdouts (based on morale)

Players can request or demand trades (based on morale)

    New practice format

    Better sub-package control

    A scouting combine

    More detailed scouting system

Morale actually has effects on players and teams

A full coaching staff with Coordinators, Trainers, etc, that affect the team's performance

    Ultimate Team:

Make it where solo challenges/solo battles have more rewards to make the game less pay-to-win

    Gameplay:

Make certain skill moves only available for certain players

Have underneath defenders play the ball when it goes over their head

Make blocking more realistic (realistic pocket, running backs help with blocking instead of standing in the backfield doing nothing)

Make it where pass rushers only do speed or power moves on one play, don't have a pass rusher use a power move and then a speed move

Pass rushers shouldn't be as powerful as they are in Madden 20

    Realistic fans

    Superstar KO:

    Remove celebrities

    More realistic fans

    Head to Head:

Add Legend teams and classic teams (I.e. the 2013 Seahawks or 1985 Bears for classic teams. Or the All-Time 49ers with Frank Gore, Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Patrick Willis, etc.)

    Clint Oldenburg stream

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 01:58 AM PDT

So, something I noticed from the stream yesterday. There are about 5 or so flagship gameplay features for this game. One of the most prominent is using the right stick now for ball carrier moves, which they openly admit they have just swapped a couple of button controls to the stick and vice-versa. But on top of this, he seemed to suggest if we, the madden community, dont like it they will change it back. So to be clear, one of the flagship gameplay features of this game, they openly admit is a simple swap of the controls AND it might not even be in the game if they get too much hate on socials. Am I pointlessly Madden bashing or do other people feel like this?
